De Walrus is a pleasant society in the center of Groningen where various associations are active every week or come to have a drink in the privacy of a café. Not every association in Groningen has its own shelter. De Walrus offers that space, and for that purpose the society was founded in 1977. Since then the society has played a prominent role in the club and nightlife in Groningen.
