Master is originally an American death metal band and a pioneer in the genre, along with contemporaries such as Death, Possessed and Slaughter. Founder Paul Speckmann now lives in the Czech Republic and continues Master with Czech members: Zdenek Pradlovsky and Alex Nejezchleba.

The band takes no less than four supporting programs: Sunlord (US), Apsara (US), Cemetery (GER) and Lefutray (CHL).
