De Dijk is a band for life. The Amsterdam-based company around Huub van der Lubbe itself secretly understood that: for every hit of the caliber If She Is Not There are a handful of forgotten gems such as Melkboer and Liefje Liefje, who have lost none of their power of expression over the decades. That is why the Groef: De Dijk album project returns to those songs that left the repertoire through the shadows of the past.

De Dijk has been a household name in pop music for almost forty years; that familiar patriotic stampei of blues, soul, rock and chanson matures like a good wine. And within that rich oeuvre the group always manages to capture a universal sentiment, and Van der Lubbe’s expressive voice still comes from the toes. Tonight in the Maassilo, De Dijk will once again defy the waters.
