Cédrics Vermue

Cédrics Vermue @ Het Muzieklokaal

In collaboration with the UAF foundation for refugee students, we are providing three Thursday evenings, just like last season! The UAF accompanies musicians from Syria, Iran, Armenia, China on various western and non-western instruments and singing. Thursday evening November 14 pianist Mkhitar Ghazaryan plays with us! Mkhitar studied piano at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and did the final year of his bachelor’s at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Mkhitar came to the Netherlands from Armenia in April 2011 and since then people have (re) discovered his talent. His experience is that music can be heard everywhere: in the silence, in the wind, when birds sing and in much more!

After the break the Syrian Karam Shebat (vocals and guitar) and Greek Jessey Arapoglou play. Karam and Jessey bring their cultural background and sources of inspiration back into their music. This leads to a dynamic performance in which Flamenco, Reggaeton and a variety of Spanish and Arabic music come together.
